Hello. When I bought my Chieftain low D, I didn’t understand that these whistles need to warm up to come up to pitch, so I immediately bought a tuneable one when I thought this one was off. Now that I know they need to be warmed up, I realize that the non-tuneable is, in fact, quite in tune.
In any case, I’ve decided that one is enough, so I am looking to part with the non-tuneable whistle. It is in new condition and sounds great. In fact, I think it sounds a tiny bit clearer than the tuneable one, but I am keeping the tuneable for the sake of versatility.
[Edit] I am pretty sure it’s an “old style” Chieftain. I bought it new in early 2003, but who knows how long it was sitting at Shark when I got it. The only engraving on it is a “D” at the bottom, and the mouthpiece is squared off.

Bump. Still for sale… I suppose I’ll try eBay if nobody’s interested here. Nice whistle, don’t let it go to waste on my shelf! 
I found from trying to get the coffee residue off of my stainless steel thermos that NOTHING works like automatic dishwasher liquid, (like cascade) -just let it soak in warm water with that mixed in for 20 minutes or so and rinse well. --mike
-maybe be careful doing that to your tunable model because of the tunable fitting. I don’t think you’re even supposed to pull those apart.
That sounds good… I’m pretty sure the entire mouthpiece is just metal.
I’ve seen whistles with wood blocks in the mouthpiece. Would you clean that the same way?
oops- I just edited that to mention the tunable version. Not sure about the wood block. I’m sure someone here can tell you or maybe ask Thom at the Whistle Shop, heck of a good guy.

I don’t actually have any whistles with wood mouthpieces, but I’ve seen some.
I agree about the whistleshop guys. I’ve ordered from them a few times (in fact, that’s where my tuneable came from) and have always been satisfied with their service.
