This is the information I am drawing from your statement:
You have seen a feral cat eating a bird.
You have seen a feral cat eating a chipmunk.
You have not seen a cat with a squirrel
You have seen a squirrel eating a cat.
The first conclusion I can draw is that since you have not seen a cat with a squirrel, you therefore have not seen a cat eating a squirrel.
The second conclusion I am able to draw here is quite straightforward and requires no tricky reasoning. If I were a feral cat I would stick to the birds and chipmunks because if I go after a squirrel it is likely to eat me.
Although it appears that cats (younger cats, at least) can handle these spectacular landings, it is my experience that these are the same cats that will suffer arthritis problems sooner when they age. It might seem like a clever idea at the time to go hurling cats through the air, but they really weren’t designed for this sort of mistreatment, and the cat will suffer for it later.
Just to assure you all, I do not in any way encourage, force, or otherwise induce cats to engage in airborne feats of derring-do. I just like to tussle with 'em.
