Flute Nirvana

I feel rather fortunate of late… I went from having a few cheap whistles and two flutes (a Hall crystal and a Dixon Duo whistle/flute), to having a few cheap whistles, a Dixon Duo, a Hall crystal flute… and a Ralph Sweet Rosewood ‘A’, a Woodsong bamboo ‘F’, and a set of 8 Tallgrass Wind bamboo flutes in varying keys. It’s like a Flute Bonanza in my living room!! I keep looking at my coffee table and saying “wow”.

I rarely post here because I feel most inadequate to discuss flutes intelligently, but I had to share my excitement with someone, and I figured all of you would understand. I think if I could get a Casey Burns Folk Flute my FlOA would be complete. For now anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, it sounds like you won the flute lottery! Please feel free to post here more often. Most of us really don’t play the flute anyway - we’re all closet bodhran players and the board is a front to save our dignity…personally, I just play spoons, but at least they’re Oneidas.

I am a closet Shakey Egg player myself…

Oh God to be seen through so easily…

That does it Eric, I`m not telling you any more of my secrets :smiling_imp:

OK, I give. What’s a “shakey egg”? I ran a google and all I came up with was Spanish castenetts - or maybe sticks. Someone pulling my leg here?

A brand name for one of these babies is “Chicken Shake”. It’s basically a plastic “Easter egg” filled with some beads or beans or the like.
