Finding music for two tunes

Where or in what books would I find the music to “Black is the Color…” and “She moved through the fair?” I do not wish to purchase a lot of books in hopes of finding these tunes, but do not mind purchasing a good book or two with a lot of worthwhile tunes. But I really want to learn these two! Thanks in advance.

Since you love these tunes I bet they’re already in your head. Now translate what you are hearing in your head to your hands and you don’t need a book. Plus, if you are like me, those tunes learned by ear “stick” much better than a tune learned from a book.

She moved through the Fair

Can’t seem to find a free sheet for Black is the Colour…

Slan,

I wish it was that way cowtime. After 38 years as a musicain, I cannot learn by ear. I do memorize by muscle memory, play and play and play it. Once I started learning GHB tunes, then the next one was easier, then the next easier, so maybe so with whistle tunes. I did actually learn Hector the Hero on the whistle from playing it on the pipes. It could happen here. Thanks Dublinn for the chart.

She Moved Through the Fair from The Session.

Black is the Color of my True Love’s Hair from Digital Tradition.

Hope these are the right tunes, okstatepiper.

jkrazy52,

Thank you. These are the tunes I was requesting. I had tried The Session, maybe was using the wrong title. Could not find Black. These versions will now give me a place to start and to make versions that would be the way I play. Thank you so much. Also thanks to the other to responders.

Curtis.
