It’s Father O’Flynn! Almost to speed, rather bald and unadorned at this point (that means no ornamentation other than cuts and strikes), but I am very pleased with myself.
Now, what do I mean by up and running? I can play it through with pretty good tone in both registers, and I am breathing in all the right places for me, and the tune SOUNDS like Father O’Flynn. So right now I’m breaking my arm patting myself on the back!

!
Congrats, and ride the good feelings as long as you can. On ye, boyo!
Good for you! How long have you been at it then? I’ve been wrestling with it (and loving every minute!) for nearly 5 months and it sounds like you’re well ahead of me. If you’re feeling brave why not put an mp3 up on clips and snips and ask for constructive criticism?
Thank you for the encouraging words! I’ve been playing (not very assiduously) for about 18 months. I’ll try to post a clip sometime in the future. My flute is a Tipple two-piece, with lip plate and wedge, FWIW…
With best regards,
Steve Mack
