Favorite Drills

The other day I was trying to play along with Liam O’Flynn’s “The Foxchase” on his album Out To An Other Side and I came across the repeated phrase

BG~G2|AG~G2|DG~G2|AG~G2

and I thought it would make a good practice drill for rolls. Then I began to wonder if there were other drills people have found beneficial that I should encorporate into my practices. So I am asking “Do you have any favourite drills you would like to share”?

I found the same thing about The Knotted Cord.
It’s good for practicing rolls on A, G, and E.

Several tunes have led me to pratice arpeggios a lot. For
example Morning Dew, Wise Maid, Atholl Highlanders.

I used to play a lot of tunes featuring ocatave jumps to
practice cutting into the second octave, like Haste to the
Wedding and Trip to Sligo.

I find the Wind that Shakes the Barley is good for rolls.

For octave jumps I have been working on the Harlequin Jig

I should work more on arpeggios so thanks for the tune suggestions.
