Currently offered for adoption is large-holed Rudall model flute with 6 block mounted keys made by contemporary Australian maker Craig Fischer in 1989. Sale is Pending.
Mr. Fischer is very well regarded for his Uilleann Pipes. This flute is a responsive and nuanced player with very good intonation, but tends to like being played in a robust manner best!
I believe the flute is modeled after Rudall & Rose number 3012.
The flute is made of blackwood with nickel-silver fittings and keys. The head is fully lined with brass. The only āflawsā are two minor cracks in the head (not through the embouchure). The maker reportedly repaired them, when the flute was 6-months old and they have been stable ever since. When I acquired the flute it appeared to have languished for a considerable period of time. She has been thoroughly cleaned, oiled and the tennons freshly wrapped. The keypads have all been redone with ensolfoam. I have carefully broken her in over the last month and she is ready and raring to be played.

Personally, I believe this flute is easily worth twice what I am asking. But when good fortune smiles upon me, it can also smile upon you! ![]()
