Elfsong Wow!

In October, I contacted Sandy Jasper at Elfsong Whistles. After e-mailing back and forth I ordered a A/Bb combo. It was during the special she was running were a combo set was the same price as a solo whistle.

She thought it would take 4 weeks to complete the order. During the interim she e-mailed me regarding the status of the order and kept me informed as to the production status, and apologized for the delay.

Yesterday, I received my beautiful whistles. Not just the A/Bb combo, but a D/C combo as well! Sandy wanted to compensate me for the delay. Unbelievable! Four awesome whistles!! What a blessing!

The A/Bb combo is a new item for Sandy and I think it will be a winner for her. The upper register is especially nice. I’ll say more later once I’ve had time to break them in and I get better acquainted with them.

Needless to say, I am very pleased with Sandy’s service and attitude. I’ve had the priviledge of dealing with great whistle craftsman: Mack Hoover, Paul Busman, Glen Schultz and now Sandy Jasper. This is quite a community we walk among. All of these makers have bent over backward to provide quality care and wonderful products.

Thanks Sandy for your great service and wonderful whistles!

That should satisfy your WhOA for a while! Definitely above-and-beyond service from Sandy.

Good on you,

Cara

What kind did you get? What color?

Hey, uh, Sandy… if you run up against any delays while working on MY combo set, it’s okay. I’ll certainly understand if you wanted to throw in some, um, compensation though.
Just kidding.. I can’t WAIT to get mine!

Congrats on your new whistles! I have the D/C combo and absolutely love them. And Sandy is wonderful about keeping you up to date on your status.

Enjoy them!

hmm… makes me wonder just how much money I have, and if I want to invest…

sorry, i didn’t mention it . . .
C - is a Summer’s Eve w Stars (two tone blue with sparkles)
A - is a Starry Night (dark blue with sparkles)
Bb - is Emerald Gold (dark green with gold marble effect)
D - Brownish red with gold marble effect

all are very beautiful.

Hey Randy are you coming to the next GJ fest? Weekend of Sept 20 I believe.

If so please bring your Elfsongs! I’ve yet to see one.

Of course you WANT to! How could someone with a name like “The Whistling Elf” possibly resist? It’s almost an imperative!

Oh that’s my favorite of the ones on her website! So pretty. Reminds me Eowyn’s mantle…

“And so the fifth day came since the Lady Éowyn went first to Faramir; and they stood now together once more upon the walls of the City and looked out. No tidings had yet come, and all hearts were darkened. The weather, too, was bright no longer. It was cold. A wind that had sprung up in the night was blowing now keenly from the North, and it was rising; but the lands about looked grey and drear.

They were clad in warm raiment and heavy cloaks, and over all the Lady Éowyn wore a great blue mantle of the colour of deep summer-night, and it was set with silver stars about hem and throat. Faramir had sent for this robe and had wrapped it about her; and he thought that she looked fair and queenly indeed as she stood there at his side. The mantle was wrought for his mother, Finduilas of Amroth, who died untimely, and was to him but a memory of loveliness in far days and of his first grief; and her robe seemed to him raiment fitting for the beauty and sadness of Éowyn.
But she now shivered beneath the starry mantle, and she looked northward, above the grey hither lands, into the eye of the cold wind where far away the sky was hard and clear.

‘What do you look for, Éowyn?’ said Faramir.”

Teach me how, and I’ll do it. It’s just that I’m clueless. There’s a microphone on my daughter’s computer, and I can make a WAV file, I think, but I don’t know what the quality would be.

Redwolf

If you manage to make a satisfactory wav file, I’ll be glad to convert it to an mp3 and host it on my web space.

I’ll see if I can get a WAV file made tonight then. Thanks!

Redwolf, if you say one more nice thing about Elfsongs, I’m going to …

… order one. Sob.

I agree with Wombly, its starting to have that effect. I am still in “need” of a high F and have never replaced Bb and Eb Gens yet in my arsenal. I default to Burkes but I have been intrigued both by your comments about Elfsongs and also Jessie’s notes about Silkstone alloys.

I was wondering if any are available in retail places here in N. california to try em?

Sandy, are you reading this thread?

I don’t have any of the higher Elf Songs (mine is a C/D combo), but if you want to try to meet up when you’re in Santa Cruz, you can give mine a test drive. I’ll also see if I can get a WAV file recorded tonight and send it to Ridseard, so hopefully you can hear it unenhanced (if you can stand my playing, that is! ).

Geez, I have been waitin’ for my hint to take effect! The famn damily will be in S.Cruz next Friday and Saturday. Staying at some hotel so my boys can Boardwalk and other attractions.

Would love to at least stop by and keep my distance from Bart and Larry, Red.

PM me if you will be around.

I have Overtons everywhere but for times when I want something different I have a Sindt Bb/A combo which is very nice. Nothing yet for Eb although I’ve heard that Sindt Ebs are very good too. D is Copeland and a Busman and Sindt on the way and C is a Burke. Would an Elfsong Eb be a good choice?
