East Durham...who's going ??

It is July afterall…ain’t it ?

A couple of us from DC are coming up.

B

Alas, I won’t make it this year. I just used my summer vacation visiting friends and family.

Have a pint for me Jack.

Darn…I’ll have to make it a quart !

I’ll be there, taking pipe classes. See you around.

Knock over a pint for me, Jack.

If this keeps up I’ll be playing better than usual ! :astonished:

I’ll be there myself, Jack, so I’ll be drinking my own pints. However, if I happen to run into you at a suitable watering hole, I may buy you one.

BTW, this year I’m staying at the Blackthorn. Given my past record on East Durham accomodations (2004: stayed at Erin’s Melody, which was subsequently sold to Indians. 2005: stayed at the Carousel, which subsequently folded. 2006: stayed at the Fern Cliff, which was subsequently sold) I would suggest that if anyone out there is hankering to experience the Blackthorn, you do it this year as it probably won’t be around next year. Suggestions for my 2008 accomodations are welcome, either for places you’d like to see go away, or places you’d prefer I avoid because you like them…

That’s probably the best Blackthorn news I’ve heard yet !

We definitly need to split a couple this year !

Ellen Stern from my neck of the woods is coming up.

I wanted to but couldn’t arrange my work schedule.

Hi,
I may get up to the mountains towards the final weekend, im busy at work,
might bring a few good flutes with me in case anyone is on the lookout for a decent playing flute, Had some good tunes and good fun last year the day i arrived at the Blackthorne, met Peter Horan and friends there.

I’ve just decided to head down Thursday morning to stay through the weekend. We’ll be at Erin’s Melody Inn. Looking forward to meeting some of you for some tunes! I’ve never been before…

Oh, I’ll have a couple nice flutes with me as well, but I’m always interested in playing some more!!
