Dublin Ohio Festival (Commercial Posting)

This year’s Dublin (Columbus Ohio) Festival will run from July 31 to August 2 with some classes and workshops earlier in the week. We will have a flute exhibit this year in the vendor tent. Here is a listing of the flutes we will have available for purchase.

Is that Pratten a new model for you?

Like to see a picture of your Delrin with the faux ivory rings-bet it looks great!

Looks like a nice assortment-wish I could be there! Have fun!

Barry

David,

We’re hoping to get up there and if so, I’ll come lookin’ fer ya. We can play some Eb duets along with Dervish!

Then I’ll start my mad plan to badger you about a C Delrin, mwahh-hah-hah … :smiling_imp:

(BTW, for anyone who just wants to have fun playing the flute, I can’t say enough about Dave’s Delrin Eb. It’s a cracker!)

I’m really looking forward to hearing Bua, too. They’ve been among my favorites since their first CD. Terrific musicians and fantastic style!

The Pratten model was made as an experiment and it may well end up as a new model. The faux ivory rings are in two styles; one is a plain flush ring and the other more decorative. Here is a photo of flutes with the two styles and here is a close-up of the rings.

Lovely looking.

If/when there are clips of the Pratten, hope you will let us know.

Thanks, Dave, for the response-yes, very interesting! I have come to appreciate Rudalls more recently, though I still enjoy playing a Pratten now and then too! Does yours have a fully lined head or is it partially lined? Love to give it a toot, but unfortunately, I’m not going to Dublin. Good place to get some varied feedback on it though, no doubt. Maybe Cathy can give us a report on it-she’s a switch hitter too!

Have a blast!

Nice rings on the Delrins, thanks for the pics!

Barry

I’ll be down there on Saturday I believe. Anyone else going?

I’ll be there Saturday as well… Plan on hitting the session tent for a bit.

Dave: Where will you be? Near Michael Burke? You are not on the website as one of the vendors… I’ll have my 4-key with me but would sure like to try a couple of your others!

Pat

Pat, I’ll be in the Music Exhibit Tent, next to Michael Burke. I could not find a listing of the musical instrument vendors anywhere on the web site, but the map of the exhibit tent I received showed David Lynch, Bill Petersen, Mike Vignoles, Dunham Harps and Gibson Bagpipes.

I’ve heard very good things about the Copley’s and finally had a chance to try one. I was so tempted to get the delrin model.

My Forbes has such a strong lower register and the Reviol such a sweet upper but the Copley seemed to blend right in the middle. I would love to spend some serious time on one.

I know I don’t need another flute…but I want another flute…there is a difference
