Some kind person directed me to the Tony Dixon website. Well, I discovered that there is a dual head whistle/flute. So, does anyone have one of these or any opinions on them. In theory, it seems like a practical solution for transferring from whistle to flute, but then in reality, it may not work so well. Would appreciate your input.

OK, sorry, I should be a little more clear … Tony Dixon makes some fine other flutes, but as the owner of one of those plastic Duo deals and a serious amateur musician, I would strongly recommend against one for a beginner.
The whistle part’s sort of OK, the flute part – eh, not so much – you will be frustrated beyond belief.
Although it is seemingly indestructible, I will give it that.
