Drunken Lullabies...

Looking for some help verifying the work I have already done with learning the intro for Flogging Molly’s drunken Lullabies.

This what I have and wanted someone else’s opinion on its accuracy.
(Caps = 2nd Octave Notes, Lowercase = 1st octave notes)

Intro:
gb DDD DE Db
GF# EEE EF# ED
gb DDD DE D bcbaaaaba
gb DDD DE Db
GF# EEE EF# ED
gb DDD Db aaa ab ggg ga g

Chorus:
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess…
G F# F# E E D b D b a

SInging Drunken Lullabies
g a b D a b g

-Very hard to read this since it is the opposite compared to normal ABC notation which use upper case letters for the 1’st octave and lower case for the 2’nd octave…

I guess you mean something like this:

Intro:
GB ddd de dB
gf# eee ef# ed
GB ddd de d BCBAAAABA
GB ddd de dB
gf# eee ef# ed
GB ddd dB AAA AB GGG GA G

Chorus:
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess…
g f# f# e e d B d B A

SInging Drunken Lullabies
G A B d A B G

Cheers,
Anders

I guess in order to speak your language I must learn ABC Formatting.

However formatting aside do those sound like the correct notes. I am already in process of trying to learn how write this in proper ABC Formatting but it will take me some time as I have no musical theory training, and btw TY for Transciring this into more like ABC.

Thanks,

Jim

Here is my interpretation of it on whistle. Please let me know if anyone has any constructive criticizm.

You Suck, Quit Now → Is not Contructive. HE HE HE

Using the same style of “notation” as you used I get it to something like this:

GB ddd edB gfe eed edB
GB ddd edB (Cnat)BA BAGA
GB ddd edB gfe eed edB
GB dB(Cnat) BA(Cnat) BAG AGFG

Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess singing drunken lullabies
d…d…g…f…e…d..d…e…d…B…G..A…B…d…A.G..G…

Feel free to add gracenotes and ornamentation…

Cheers,
Anders

Thank You very much for looking at that. It seems I am still a way of in the hearing department. But as soon as you show me it, I hear it. Thank You Very Much.

after listening further, I think I am blowing out my ear…

This What I have at this point. If anyone can help me the timing, it just seems to play it so fast I may be missing or adding notes.

Interesting playing style

If the speed problem is overall speed, then you could try a speed command in the header like
Q:60
This specifies how many of the default note fit in a minite (I think).
Making the number bigger slows everything down.

If you are having problems with relative lengths of note you could increase relative lengths by puttin a number after them. ie G2 or G4 instead of just G.
I can not help with which notes - this is a bit that foxes me. How to work out where to put bar lines is another mystery  Still even with my limitations I found it useful - so keep plugging away as you are making progress. When you overtake me you can help me along a bit.
