Drone reed problems (self-inflicted)

Well, I’ve done gone and messed with my drone reeds a bit. I was originally planning on trying to make them play with lighter pressure (they were playing fine, just harder then they should have in order to be balanced with my chanter). However now they either don’t play at all, play only with extreme pressure, or just sound like crap. I’ve tried to re-tie the bindings and bridles, but it doesn’t seem to work too well.

I’ve also noticed on my tenor drone that the tongue has a lot of gap between itself and the cane drone body.

I’ve consulted Hegarty’s manual and have tried several things. Sometimes I think I’m almost there, but it’s just not happening. Help?

Thank you.

Who’s drones?
Can you contact the maker for a new set of drone reeds without having to send them back for re-reeding?

They’re Seth Gallagher’s drones. Yeah, I can order a new set, but I don’t think that’s necessary. The actual reeds haven’t been altered, just the bindings and bridle. I think that it shouldn’t be difficult (just tricky) to remedy what I’ve done.
