Dixon Low G

So, who here thinks the Dixon Low G is a good investment for $42?

thanks for any other suggestions as well,

Tradman

I do! I’ve got a Dixon Bb that is a beauty. Tuning and tone are gorgeous. I’m actually using it tonight to play in a wedding. I consider it a good investment. I don’t have any other whistles made by Tony, but I’d venture that a G would be similarly great.

I love mine! It has that nice clean, woody sound. Excellent late night practice whistle. It is pretty quiet, though, and a little more sensitive to air pressure. The holes are small. That, said, I still think it’s a great whistle.

The next step down the scale, F, is made in both a medium bore and a large bore model (the G whistles are made in medium bore only). I just received the large bore model yesturday. It is much louder with a more open tone.

The Dixon G would be a great deal at twice the price!

I love my Dixon G. I second the above posts: nice warm tone, somewhat quiet so it is very good for practicing, easy breath requirements. Also, the finger holes are just darn easy to reach, esp for a low whistle. I play mine all the time. I heartily recommend it.
