Dipper County Clare Concertina

I am considering selling my Dipper County Clare Concertina.

It was made for me in 2003 and has rarely been used.

It is a beautiful instrument with amazing tone.

I would regret selling it, but I may be forced to.

I am trying to see if there is enough interest to warrant listing it here.

Thanks your responses in advance.

Cheers! Richard

Why order a concertina from arguably the best maker alive when you don’t plan on using it?

A. Because I don’t play concertina.
B. Because it was ordered for my wife and she lost interest.
C. Because I only deal with the best.
D. Because I would love to have someone who would play and appreciate such a fine instrument own it.

Still interested?

Richard

there is confusing material out there about the reeds in the county clare models. some blurbs mention a “professional” model with more-premium reeds. i have no clue whether there is indeed a reed difference, and if so, what that difference consists of. can you give an idea of which “county clare”
version yours is, and also of what the difference is between the reeds in these concertinas? many thanks.

When I purchased it from Colin it was stated to be a “professional” model.

I’m afraid I can’t tell you the difference as I wasn’t aware of this.

The concertina has German Nickel Silver filigree cut ends, no papers on the black bellows, and ebony ends.

I does have some gold filigree work around where the wood and bellows meet. A very classic looking model with beautiful tone and very flowing buttons that require little pressure with great response. I have actually learned two tunes on it.

It has all the original bill and paperwork as well from Colin plus a nice case.

The Dipper is SOLD. Many thanks for all the interest.

I can’t believe I missed this thread. You friends out there should have told me about it… :sniffle:

Richard, would you mind letting me know how much you sold this baby?
