different fingering on soprano, mezzo, tenor?

I was just wondering.
Now I play a soprano D and might very well get a mezzo or tenor.
Do you use all the same fingering or do I have to learn different fingering for each kind?
How many of you do just “pretend” it is a D whistle  and how many of you use different fingering.
Just curious…all those different fingerings you would have to learn…boggles my mind

the fingerings on all whistles is the same, just pretend they’re all D-whistles (especially when you read notation)

Yep. The same across the board. YOu will find from whistle to whistle, you may have to finger c natural a little diffently. That isn’t a rule that follows keys though.

The reach is somtimes more of a problem on the lower-pitched whistles than the actual fingering. I have pretty long fingers for a woman but getting below mezzo G is hard for me due to the reach, so I haven’t ventured much into whistles lower than mezzo A. I do love the A and Bb though. Hope you enjoy experimenting with other keys.
