Dermot Rafferty - "The Green Bunch Of Joy"

This is a great CD which I got hold of at the Willie Clancy week 4 weeks ago. I’ve just posted it on the “Recordings” section at “thesession.org” - see link below :

I love it when musicians dig out old tunes from their local area, and this is one of the best I’ve come across. Thoroughly recommended.

Just had a listen on iTunes. Will be my next purchase.
Thanks, Kenny

Patrick

You’re welcome, Patrick.
Should have included this link, which gives the sleeve notes and photos accompanying the CD, and you can also buy it.

Is it an Ormiston on the cover? Not sure just a guess.

Yes it is, and the very first track is played on an Ormiston “Alto” flute.

Yes, an Ormiston, a few of us had the pleasure of tunes til dawn at his house a few weeks ago, a bit the worse for wear we were

I buy one recording per month and listen to it for a full month.

I am loving this recording.

Love the way he plays with the rythm on some tunes.

Best flute album I’ve bought in a while.

Thanks, for the heads up Kenny
