Dancing Stickmen - anyone have their whistles?

I just found a site called the Dancing Stickmen that sells primivite instruments. They have a bone whistle and a bone tabor pipe that both look pretty cool. The whistles they will tune in a modal minor (perfect for me, since I do Middle-Eastern dance & music).

But I’ve never heard of these guys and I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience in dealing with them? The whistles and pipes are only $20 each so it’s not TOO much of an investment if it goes awry, but I’m just curious if anyone knows their work.

Here’s the link, if you’re interested.

“ancient diagnol tonehole”

I have been tempted to get one several times. I have tried to make that kind of mouthpiece work and never been sucessful. Having a functional model around might make a difference. It is a lot easier to copy someone else’s work than to figure it out myself.

At any rate, I have never played one of his instruments, but I have had the site bookmarked for over a year.

Well, I think I will try one of the bone whistles. I will post a little review once I get it.
