Cultural differences

In a thread that ran some time ago, we traded different words/expressions used in the UK and North America. I just read this..
“The British government have said that due to monetary changes in Europe we can no longer make reference to the old monetary denominations. We can no longer spend a penny, we now have to EUROnate…”

“Whistlepeg” please check your private messages on C&F as I posted one to you. Brigitte

OK, but I refuse to start calling my penny-whistles eurowhistles, no matter what the British government says.

So are they going to quit making the blue-fippled Generations out of NICKEL? :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, it would be cent-whistle )

As the UK haven’t joined the Euro (yet..) we can stick to pennywhistles for now.

What bothers me is the Euro coinage. Some denominations don’t have a head on the obverse, so when tossing a coin, call tails & then you win either way!

Where can I find that thread and under what title?

Laura

Whistlepeg - hahahahaha! Actually, it was posted on the email over here as a joke, but I guess you knew that. Went round every PC in the UK in no time!
