I don’t think Irish traditional music flute players will be too excited regarding your crowns. Prehaps suit the classical flutists 
I don’t know, steampacket - all types of flute bling are interesting to see. I’m sure the stones could be built into a wooden crown just as easily.
I personally like the Zen minimalist style of flute decoration, i.e. none, just clean simple lines. But then as we all know, tastes may differ.

What puts me off a bit is the fact that the concentric circles on the crowns, even if they might be intended to look like that, leave the impression of less-than-sufficient sanding/finishing of the surface. Nice work otherwise, even though I wouldn’t want one on my flute.

The engraving work featured on the site is really top notch.
Part of my problem about being an artist is that I “see” these projects in my mind but not sure how far to go. I like to take things in stages and get a feel for what it could look like. If it’s overdone, there’s no fixing it. Sometimes less is best.
Macro photography sure brings out the slight imperfections you’d never catch at the distance we naturally view things: Arms length.
I felt this needed just a bit more and now I am done with it.
It’s all hand made out of 416 Grade Stainless Steel. The stones are all Swarovsky CZ gemstones.The gold ring near the top really is pure 24K gold inlay.

Thanks for posting these pictures. One of the things i love about this forum is the friendlyness that abounds here and how even amongst disagreements there is a level of decorum. That said i have to say that i find these pieces incredibly tacky. That said i find alot of what people create as art, tacky. You have come to a place of people who love the compex beauty of very simple things, done simply and elegantly. I don’t want to dissuade you from posting pictures. It’s nice to see what’s out there but in my opinion this is tasteless.

Actually, that leaves me with a blackwood tube with flush silver rings and an uninterrupted line from one end of the flute to the other. And a few holes in between…
Beautiful, but tends to roll off tables if I am not careful…
While I love wooden flutes I also love the shine and detail of concert flutes. I think the last crown photo with the engraving and crystals is quite beautiful. If I had a $15K Brannen Bros flute, I would be thrilled to hang that crown on it. I would also have the engraver work on the lip plate.
@ Raggle Taggle—if you ever get around to owning that shiny concert flute, give me a shout.
