Craic at tionols and C&F one in the same

This C&F place is just like a tionol, really. Sometimes the craic is the best part of it. Can you imagine a tionol where all would stay on task and focus on pipering? While that would be desired given travel expenses…I’d never have gotten to know great folks like Father d’Arcy, Gaby, or Larry , Fel, Tommy Kleen, Kynch, …the list goes on. We get to know one another to some extent with all the nonsense on this board. Just remember that what is written does not truly characterize an individual. One cannot take what is written at face value all the time…most of us type quickly, do not proof, know what we meant to say, and often do not realize what may have been implied and how others may interpret our writing. Kudos to Joe for trying to keep us in the polite on topic zone.

Heard this morn that Minneapolis is the second drunkest city in the US…list leader is Milwaukee. Perhaps the pipers there in Minn will want to “fix” this problem and take over first place! Something to consider at the next tionol I suppose. What do you guys drink when piping? Me, I prefer port wine…late bottled vintages… though I’ll open a bottle of vintage 2000 on occasion…sure, its is drank before its time… but is is magnificent already. I usually don’t drink, though.

I decided to take a great risk with my painting supplies and travel to Ireland tomorrow. Just could not stay away…I will check the paints and carry on my pipes. Lets hope that none of it gets damaged. I am only going for 9 days though as I cut the trip short by 6 days to go visit with my folks after my return. If ya see me and my aritst friend painting in the bog somewhere while driving this next week then stop and say hello.

Good feedback on the book Tea in Connemara…a little expensive and I’m gonna look for another publisher in hopes of lowering cost…but you get about 17 tunes and 25 images and all my nonsense for your money…several have remarked it to be worth the approx 50 bucks.

Got invited/asked to look at a leadership position at UCSF Medical Center. Will be interviewing out there while the rest of ye go to learn about piping at The Catskills Tionol. Now…wouldn’t the beehive set just looooove the move to SF!

Yes, San Franciso would be wonderful to live in. Depending on where in the city, it could be nearly ideal for your reeds. - year 'round. …and the session scene is fairly healthy.

Being the basic selfish dude that I am, we west coasters would love it if you could make the move out our way.

I’m here in Madison but do try to help those Milwaukeans maintain their lead on occasion. :wink:

When piping, I’m partial to single malt (16 yr Lagavulin or 30 yr Ardbeg) or Irish Whisky (Old Middleton Very Rare) but port works in a pinch. If you ever make to Madison, I might let you into the wine cellar where my stash of 1963 Fonsecas and Taylor-Fladgates are stored! :party:
