The pics didn’t turn out so hot – I’ll try to get some better ones. The colors are more accurate in the side view. All the whistles are shown with slides out to around A440. The whistles, left to right:

51 – Cambodian rosewood, lovely figure, two eyes in the grain right below the blade, easy player, sweet pure sound. $75 [spoken for]

52 – Cambodian rosewood, easy player, sweet pure sound – $75

53 – Osage orange, easy player, sweet sound, louder than the rosewoods – $75 [spoken for]

54 – Flowering dogwood (I cut the tree down myself); one-piece, all wood, non-tunable, nice, open sound, woodier than the previous – $40

55 – Holly, from a tree that blew down in my boss’s yard; very mellow, woody sound, needs/can be leaned into more than the others – $50

The brass-fitting whistles are back by popular demand:

61 – Macassar ebony; absolutely lovely wood, looks like blackwood, but with a lot more depth; the brass-mouthpiece whistles take a little less air/more pressure than the wooden-mouthpiece whistles, and they’re not quite as loud; they’re narrower and feel more delicate, this one plays quite well, but is on the quiet side – [spoken for]

62 – Macassar, pretty similar to the previous one, has a repaired crack (it never leaked, the crack is at the slide) – $50 [spoken for]

63 – Pacific dogwood; a little easier playing and louder than the macassars, but not as easy and loud as the wooden mouthpiece whistles. – $85 [spoken for]

Regarding the crack, whenever using a new design or new wood (Macassar is new to me), I keep the tubes around for a long time and then subject them to some extremes once all the fittings are in/on. I had this one inside and in the garage during the summer, then same in the winter. All was good till I left it right next to the wood stove. Probably <20% relative humidity. What a maroon!
