CP (sort of) Check out my new whistle!

Made a new whistle. I like them a lot. They have a nice whistle timber. Still needs a little work to bring the top into balance a little better. Here are some pics and a bad video recording of me trying to play “The South Wind”. Understand that I play badly… Did I mention that my playing could improve? Just sayin…

The big picture

A fipple picture

You can see the windway, if you look close…

Fipple and body separated

A link to a video of me trying to play the thing. (The video is 88 Megabytes. If you have a slow connection, you may be disappointed. Did I mention that my playing is… bad? )

Hey Chuck, love the way you keep moving along!

The whistle looks great and sounding great too!

For what it is worth, here is an audio only file. http://whistlemaker.com/pics/whistles_102609/Whistle.mp3
(Thanks MT!)

Wow, that clip took a long round-trip detour.

If only shipping whistles was that easy.

Yes, if only you engineers would get busy with your teleporters and remote fabricators.

The last few posts may not make much sense to most people, so I will explain:

I posted a video clip of me trying to play a tune on my new whistle and several people, HoopyMike among them, had trouble seeing it and there was nothing I could do with it. So MTGuru kindly made a audio-only version of the recording, which he sent to HoopyMike, who sent it to me. Then I posted it. I think that is sooo cool!

Thats at least as cool as teleportation and trans-molecular assemblers. Right? BTW: Have you ever heard of a Bose-Einstein condensate? Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bose–Einstein_condensate#Unusual_characteristics. That stuff is possible and will eventually be a main-stream technology.
