Copeland question

Can the Copeland experts tell me. Are there two styles of head joint on the whistles..one with " wings" and one without? thanks

On the high D there are no wings. These are to control the air, they improve tone
and Michael says that he finds they make no difference on the high D. I’ve never
seen a Copeland C so I don’t know if they are there, however they are
there from Bb down.

What Jim said. The C whistle have the windway walls too.

Doc

Thanks men.

I have both a nickel C and D that are from the pre-number days and neither have windway wings. They are supposed to help “stabilize” the tone in all Michael’s keys below soprano D. I have a bunch of Copelands and have had a variety of D and C whistles - I’ve never played a better C Copeland than this one or the D for that matter.
