Contemporary Painting of a Piper?

Here is a painting my wife and I purchased from a young 23 year old painter in Poland earlier this year. I immediately fell in love with it, as it reminded me of a piper. The artist, Lukasz Banach, had never heard of the Uilleann pipes before, and I sent him some sound clips, which he really liked. His original intent, which I think fits in very well, is that of some kind of weapon, and strangely enough, the generation of vast droning sounds!!

If a piper were ever to do a CD of Joy Division covers (possible titles: “Celtic Atrocity Exhibition”, “Unknown Bore Dimensions”, “New Chanter Reed Fades”), this would make an appropriate, um, cover.

Is this another angle of Seamus Ennis by that guy who did Seamus before?

For a moment there I thought it was me; knock-kneed and lost in a fog!

Sporting PF: Re: AR and floral arrangements: Does he?

BTW, shouldn’t that artist read Lucas Cranach? Fits the pipes better…

Well, I like it! And, no, Ro, it is not Lucas Cranach, whose work is many times more costly than Haverty’s. Although, I think if I could afford a Cranach, I’d have bought the Haverty instead.
