I never received the insurance payment for the damage caused when the smoking jacket you sent several months ago ignited my sofa. (The jacket itself was already nothing but ashes and tatters, but there was enough heat in the box to start a fire after the children brought it back from the post office.)

I’m not the one who instigated the smoking jacket tradition, so I can’t answer you on the why of it.
As for the insurance, did you file a claim form with Tinwhistlers’ Mutual?
I’ve had nothing but trouble with Tinwhistlers’ Mutual. Has anyone ever received a payment from them?
