hi,was just wondering if any1 as heard anything about the soundtrack to the new film cold mountain.( based on the best book ever

ive heard that the lead singer of white stripes had a bit part and was doing the music 
? ā¦but a few reveiws of the upcoming films have mentioned a cd release similar to āoh brother where art thouā,and have been talking of a resurgence of mountain/folk music etc!! not that it went away 4 someā¦
wondered what people thought good or bad for the whistle community, seemed to of helped with the alt country crowd..
I thought Tim OāBrien was doing at least some of the music. His great CD, Songs from the Mountain, was inspired by the novel.

I have not read the book, although I have it.
I plan to watch the movie first, though, since usually the book is better

Book is pretty good, despite somewhat frustrating ending. Cute tie-in with folk music (fiddling) too. Worth a reading.
