Clark #14: my two-point is HERE!

For any of you that like looking at mandolins during production, I thought I’d share a link to the main thread I posted on themandolincafe.com where the builder hangs out. Feel free to take a peek every now and then as I will update as pictures come in. Austin Clark is a luthier in Boise, Idaho and a great guy to work with.

Cool! Looks like it should be a nice instrument.

Better than I deserve, but I hope to enjoy it!

congratulations, looks like it’s gonna be a beauty.

thanks rh, from what he’s done before, I certainly hope so

Sweet! That looks nice indeed, mind if I ask how much it’s setting you back? I’m not in the market, just curious.

with mandolin prices these days…

:stuck_out_tongue:

I just started a new topic over at the MandolinCafe with a bunch of pictures. Rather than taking up more server space here, I thought I’d post the link for those that want to follow that thread here,

I will post a few pictures here for those that don’t want to check out the other links.

I can’t believe how difficult it is to get good photographs, void of dust specs, reflections, and other things I don’t know how to control . . . but I hope you can enjoy nonetheless.

I do plan on having a buddy who is a professional photographer do a real photo shoot at the end of the month and then I’ll post new pictures.

This shows better color and look:

Here’s the custom engraved Bill James tailpiece. He was really fun to work with on producing this.

Here’s Austin’s new logo inlay MOP, Grover tuners with pearloid knobs and black shafts. D’Addario J74 strings.

Another shot of the one piece Big Leaf Maple back. It looks so good in the Canadian tweed case.

Wow! That looks great. Have fun with it.

Thanks Avery . . . I plan too.

Congratulations, it’s lovely! Nice flamey back, beautiful finish. Did you go with the radius FB?

Yes, I did, a 20" radius.

Sweeeeet! That’s awesome dude, I guess I’ll have to run over to the cafe to read your impressions on how it sounds and plays?

Totally makes me want to build a mando.
