Just for fun I wonder what other accompanists would do with the chords for that tune. Leave it as is? Use substitute chords. I usually play bouzouki but I got out my dusty guitar and tried it. Here’s something I would try with the first few few bars of the first part of the tune in dropped D tuning.
| G| Am7 G/B | C Am7 | C D | G |
That sequence gives a bass line from the G in the first measure up to the C. I’ve never played the tune with anyone but I’ve heard it and I’ve never heard that F natural section in the second part.
Anybody else?
