chiff?

What is “chiff” in a whistle? Is it the the little chirp at the beginning of notes?

Also, can someone recommend a beginner’s guide to tweaking? (something beyond just adding clay or tape. I have a cheap Walton D (a spare) that I’d like to improve. I have a Clark D and C and a Feadog D - love the Feadog - must have gotten a good one.

I have a $2000 classical/flamenco guitar that I can’t play because of shoulder injury. It’s amazing how much I enjoy these whistles that cost around $10.

(Hopefully I’ll someday learn to play them well enough so that my wife doesn’t go shopping everytime I practice.)

could we schedule the “what is chiff” threads to one every three weeks?

I don’t know, could we?

The link helped. Thanks

 yea, that gets asked a lot.

…just one of the local conundrums

be sure to stay tuned for more of 'em

Dale could program the board so that each time a person types in the phrase “what is chiff” they could be redirected here.

I think my reading that was what prompted the question…

Jeez! Someone’s got too much time on their hands

(only joking Dale!)
