I consider AOL itself to be a virus.
A time or two in the not so distant past, one of the kids has, out of curiousity, stuck one of their freebie disks in the drive. Later, I come along and discover that by just being in the computer’s drive, the disk has somehow insinuated itself into the internet settings such that our ISP function is all messed up and I have to completely reconfigure it.
I gave the kid the a-ok to use any incoming AOL disks as cheap, trashable frisbees.
A word of caution. You just as wells not try this at home. The wood and stuff tends to expand and contract, while the AOL CD-ROM’s tend not to, which contributes heavily to crackage.
I have a disc burner. I heat my home with AOL (notice it is one letter away from AWOL) discs.
Actually, I keep them in the original package. I figure people so deeply hate the discs that the vast majority are trashed. I figure will all the many ephemeral discs out there that get tossed as soon as they are received, at some point, they will become collectors’ items!

PS,
Walden, I need to warn you, that drum with the drumstick and whistle looks too much like the drum graphic MacroShaft 98 uses in its setting up.
