Hi!
I am signed up for an Overton low E. I can play a Chieftain low E. Is the spacing of the Chieftain and a Goldie Overton similar?
Thanks!
Heya,
Yeah, they’re somewhat similar. Keep in mind that Hardy’s Chieftains are machine-made, so are almost all identical. Goldie makes every one completely by hand. I have had the pleasure of visiting his shop and absolutely falling in love with a low E, but for lack of a little something called money, alas it is not part of my collection. Good choice; you won’t have any problems with the spacing. If nothing else, I have found them to be a bit easier than Chieftains.
I don’t have any Low E whistles, but I have had about a half dozen Chieftains and twice as many Overtons. In general I’ve found the finger spacing on the newer (last 2-3 years) Goldie Overtons to be a bit easier (closer together) than the Chieftains.
