Anyone care to offer an opinion as to maker? I think it’s on old P Sky, is that reasonable ?

that looks like my hunter chanter - is it for sale?
Once I can get an ID yes . Your the second person to mention Peter Hunter via Davey Stephenson . Hmm
best person to check with is sam Lawrence who i’m sure you know was peter’s apprentice and is contactable over at hunterpipes.co.uk
Ok it’s fair to say we can discount P Hunter and Sam. Not getting much response here , never mind . I will ask Mr Sky what he thinks .cheers
go to the gallery section at hunterpipes.co.uk and look for the set with the description:
‘Concert set in ebony, English box and brass. Chanter by Peter, rest of set by Sam. Made for promising young piper Paddi Benson.’
if it’s not a hunter it’s amazingly similar - the brass top has lines etched in the same places and the bobble top is the same
however, if sam has said it’s not a hunter he’d know better than anyone
Sam reckoned it was very unlikely. Trouble contacting Mr Sky though, his emails are not current, maybe Cathy will get my message. Cheers
Once I saw a set of Pats bellows I knew it was one of his and he confirmed it recently, thanks Pat. I only use pats bellows in preference to my other 3 sets . So I’m glad to have solved my little puzzle. Thanks for the input folks. Cheers
