I bought this cd recently on the rave recommendation of a friend. Now, I’m addicted to listening to it. It’s essentially uilleann pipes, concertina, and guitar. There’s one low whistle track. The Entire cd is excellent. Great melodies played at a listenable pace- not overly fast. I think I want to learn every tune on it. It has a lot of jigs, a few slow airs, reels, of course, etc. The ornamentation is crisp. This has some very excellent concertina playing, an instrument that usually doesn’t grab my attention. I have no qualms about recommending this cd to anyone who loves ITM.
Tony
I heard these two brothers at a recent Lunasa concert here in the Chicago area. Niall (sp?) was on the program with Karan Casey and Robbie Overson as the opening act; Cillian of course is with Lunasa. But they paired up to do a few of the tunes from their new CD, and based on these I heartily agree with Tony. They joked that their new CD was supposed to have been ready by the time of the concert, but that somehow Liberace CDs got put into their jewel cases by mistake. Later in the show, Kevin Crawford joked that Lunasa’s new CD was to have been ready in time for the show, but that the Vallely bros. CD had been put into their jewel cases by mistake.
Sounds like everything’s cleared up now. ![]()
Where can we buy it from?
I’m sure Green Linnet would have it. (See other thread

I don’t think they do. And good for the Vallely brothers, too.
It’s put out by Compass Records. Try http://www.compassrecords.com

Just bought my copy this afternoon, already listened to it twice. Great album, lots of juicy tunes.
My brush with greatness!

That’s from a few years ago at Gaelic Roots. I also saw them a couple of months ago in Santa Cruz (on that same Lunasa/Karan Casey/Robbie Overson/Vallelys tour), and was disappointed that the CD was not available that evening. I’ve been meaning to look for it since then, but haven’t heard it yet. So now that’s another item on my “to do” list for today!

Hi Darvis!
I just get a white screen hosted by Angelfire. Is this modern art or somethin?

I like to think of it as an “installation”.
I think Angelfire is one of those services that doesn’t allow you to link directly to a picture. You may need to cut and paste the link.
