Anyone out there with memories of CBGBs?
Haven’t been there in well over 20 years, and remember it mostly as a dingy hole in the wall. The Record Canteen next door was a little nicer. The thing that was special about the place has been gone for quite some time, even before I was there. That being hearing music that was fresh, new and vibrant. I can just imagine walking in and seeing Talking Heads doing ‘Building on Fire’.
A fire trap, that place was.
