Hi y’all.
Hopefully someone here will be able to give me some idea of what I actually have in my hot little hands. I have the accordion that my parents purchased for me when I was taking lessons as a child. The accordion was carefully stored in its case for about oh 33 yrs and now I’ve decided to let someone else have a go at it.
Problem is, I’m having a VERY difficult time finding out anything about it. Hopefully someone here can help me and tell me is this thing is extremely rare and valuable (hope hope hope) or so not worth anyones while.
It is a small , comparatively light (17 to 20 lbs) and comes with a hard case. It is a Serenelli with 120 bass and 41 keys on a 15" keyboard. There are three buttons on top of the keyboard that read - Bassoon, Master, Clarinet. The accordion itself is pearloid red and white. The bellows show no cracks or splits and there is good resistance with no air leakage that I can tell. There is an emblem attached to the keyboard side that seems to a coat of arms.
I’ve had this since 1973 - the last time I took lessons- and I know next to nothing about it, my parents purchased it from my teacher at the time and they know diddly. So my question to you all is - is this a toy or a treasure? I can’t find ANYTHING that looks even remotely like it and even the company that made it seems to have gone belly up ( or has been merged with another company and I just can’t find them).
Please help. Thank you all
