During a recent trip to St Petersburg, Russia I happened upon this lovely little squeezebox. It was at a market stall full of old WWII merchandise (gas masks, uniforms, badges, military equipment e.t.c) and this squeezebox was hidden away in the corner. I bought it as I have always wanted to play the accordion and though why not. That was a few months ago, and since then i have been scouring the internet desperately trying to identify my purchase and any information on it at all. Unfortunately I have no idea where to look and have been truly unsuccessful. This is not helped by the fact that I live in Manchester, UK, and as far as I’m aware there aren’t many accordion specialists around here.
It is not in great condition and certainly appears to be very old, it was held together with small nails mostly and it seems to have undergone repairs on multiple occasions. When i bought it three of the buttons didn’t work, since then i have managed to fix two of them. Any suggestions at all as to what it actually is, who made it, when it was made e.t.c would be very welcome indeed!
