I want one. Has been a dream of mine since I first started playing 14 yrs ago.
Anyone have a set to sell?
Who makes the best C# set?
Talk to me.

I love my Lawrence/Hunter C# Chanter!
Hi,
I think C# sets or chanters are very rarely for sale! most of the owners prefer to keep them.
If you want from Europe & the best, Sam Lawrence (Hunterpipes) would be your best choice I think & also Bill Haneman. OR Joe Kennedy (Canada) & Brad Angus (USA). These came to my mind as best. AA
Nollaig’s Kennedy C# was nice when I tried it many years ago, so seconding that. I’m just chomping at the bit to make an exact copy of Peter’s c1760s blackwood & brass Egan C#, as soon as I’m less busy with musical ventures and plumbing.
It’s a good key. Old pitch D and all that. Ennis. Doesn’t freak retuning fiddlers out as much as B.
I am very pleased with my Andreas Rogge Coyne-based C# full set.
Martin Preshaw is making wonderful C sets right now. Not sure if he’s doing C#. He’ll be at the SOCAL tionól next weekend. The 3/4 C set I played of his had great presence and was really fun to play. I have one of his new D chanters and it is wonderful as well.
I love the sound, playability and reed friendliness of Brad Angus’s chanters. He will work with you and if you make the trek up from San Francisco for the Seattle piper’s Tionol you could probably meet up with him. I don’t know if he will be here this year yet but he usually comes. You should get in contact with him.
