C nat (second octave) on a keyless flute

ya, not even the other old folks

OXO OOO works on my Wylde, but is a bit flat. OXO XXX is just about bang on. While we’re up there, OXX OXX is the most in-tune 3rd D.

I know this violates the spirit of the endeavour, but the best C of all on my flute is XOX XXX XX - figure that one out! Cheers,

Rob

Wait a minute.. are you talking about a strangely rich overblown 2nd harmonic C? Wouldn’t a second octave C on an 8-key be a third octave C for us keyless folks?

Thank you all for your tips and advice . xox xxx sounds best on my flute.

Julien

That’s good! I laughed my, er, whatever off, thank you!

And perhaps beyond that, ahem.

The fourth register of the Boehm flute eventually cost me some teeth, and that’s no joke, as perhaps what’s left of my smile could easily display.

But perhaps teeth could only block one’s air stream, eh?
