What gives, lads…

Anybody actually playing their flute?

Rob

I play the fife.

I try to play mine, but I’m not sure the sound that comes out of it is justified to be called music. Of course, with my current cold, mostly what comes out is just phlegm.

raises hand

Well, we knew ya were odd already, didn’t we…

Note: Nano did sell a flute once about three and a half years ago
'course he’d had the sucker for over a decade

Was it that long indeed? How’s that stick treatin’ you, anyway?

aye, I’m still tootling along… although I do have too many flutes in case anyone’s looking for an old wylde…

Oi!! You there, wise guy. :poke:

Was that a dogwood flute?

nope…the dogwood seems to be a roamer

This was the 8 key that caused the dogwood, as an interim, while a new head & barrel was being made for the 8 key.

What ya told me

Its fine! Pads aren’t getting any better though…

It has occurred to me that you might have been talking “since you sold it”…it wasn’t that hard to get old, I just managed not to die…ah, yeah I found my email to Peter so it’ll be four years come springish.

Ah, so that’s what the kids are calling it nowadays!

Hey Rob,

Some of us are Musically Challenged and depend upon a steady influx of hardware to maintain our interest! :smiling_imp:

I know there are some ‘great?’ players here and think its a shame that the posting clips sticky is not used more.( BTW I don’t think players have to be ‘great’ to be worth listening to.)

I suppose it could be my imagination, but it seems like we used to do more nattering about tunes, technique, and general fluthering than engaging in the interminable swap-shop. I have nothing against that, really, but would rather see it in the Buy/Sell area than here (I’ll be selling a flute for a friend soon - guess I can’t post it in the Flute Forum now!).

I admit I’ve let this put me off participating as much; I’ll try to do my part to up the tone. This could be our new slogan:

“The Flute Forum: We’ve Upped Our Tone, So Up Yours!”

Rob

The downside of not being allowed to kibitz in the Exchange forum.

Perhaps you could attempt down toning…ah, toning down.

Not to mention a bit of that nonsense about note patterns.

Put me in “still playing” camp. I’ve posted a few times recently, but most often it has been advice for people buying flutes.

I do miss the more musical, and technique based questions.

I’ll go start a thread on the Catharsis Reel.

Eric

I like this.

My only misgiving is that sure as Frankie Gavin made little green apples, some fluteplayers will take it to mean that it’s okay to play sharp.

Were supposed to play these things? I thought they were trading cards…
BTW Rob, you want to buy a flute? :poke:
