Hi all.
I just got a box on loan from a friend am in need of some websites which may have beginning information, such as a fingering chart, how to press on the button so one’s fingers don’t get stuck in th holes, etc. I play flute and banjo, so this is a little out of my comfort zone. Thanks in advance,
Arbo
There are no websites, online tutorials, DVDs, vids, or CD’s for C#/D teaching materials.
It is so easy that you are suppose to be able to play it without any help!
(I am sort of kidding, but it seems to be the truth since there isn’t anything out there!)
Here’s somthing… http://www.xs4all.nl/~hspeek/irishbox/index.html
Hope this helps,
Nathan

Here is a link to keyboard layout for C#/D accordion. Here is a beginner’s guide as well. Mostly about D/G boxes, but you might find some usefull information.

Taylor,
Thank you for posting your link!
I apologize if my previous post was a little short and sarcastic. I have given it more thought and would like to answer your question again with a little more care!
Peter Browne has a teaching DVD called Irish button accordion techniques (for the two row B and C also C# and D tuning) . That is what it says on the cover.
Like most teaching materials available today, this one is primarily for the B/C but some of the techniques can be applyed to the C#D!
The techniques are more for the intermediate to advanced but it is fun to watch even if you are a beginner! At the time it was helpful for me to learn how to play triplets. I need to go back and see what other techniques I can learn!
Another DVD is by P.J. Heron…Learn to play the B and C Button Accordion.
Geared for the BC player but it can’t hurt to learn a little BC fingering on your C#D.
There are a couple of clips of him performing with his one row melodion which is similar to a C#D if you just play on the D row!
Here’s a link of someone on YouTube playing Coolies reel in straight row fingering! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLqfJ_JNbZU
Can’t see his fingers very well but some nice C#D playing!

I’ll add more later!

The buttons aren’t supposed to go down that far. What make of box is it? If you can open the keyboard, it would probably be worth putting a layer of felt or cardboard under the keys to raise the action.
