Hi all

A few questions regarding building whistles:

Would it be possible to put a Susato head on PVC body to make a different keyed whistle? I have a Susato Low D and was wondering if I were to cut a blank for a Low F/A/Bb and then put the Susato Low D head on it if it would work. Im currently in the process of making some PVC flutes is why I ask.

Yes, it’s possible.
It’s important to try to make the inner diameters of the mouthpiece tube and the PVC pipe to be close as possible.

Blend the transition so that the air does encounter sharp edges inside the bore.
