Brass and Copper

Good Day,

I have been making reeds and wonder if anyone can say if there is a difference between using a staple made from a brass/copper tube or rolling one out of sheet copper ?

If anybody has tested this and noticed any advantage, I would be interested.

I am about to make some reeds with a rolled copper staple to see what happens.

The reason you roll staples is that you’re trying to make a conical tube (that is a continuation of the conical bore of the chanter).
There is no point at all in rolling a parallel-sided copper staple if your chanter functions well with a staple made from tubing.
Entirely depends on the chanter.
