So I went IKEA and got a 5 shelf book shelf to complement the 3 shelf version that I moved into the computer/music room. SO why are all the shelves filled??
It is the law of bookshelves and file cabinets. As soon as a person buys one, it is immediately filled. The reason is that a person only buys one when they have enough stuff to fill it. If they buy two, they will fill two.
Because you forgot to keep the boy books and the girl books segregated on seperate shelves.
Do you fill it with only books or do you put pictures, sculptures, and such in there, too? That’s what I do. I can’t bare to have a shelf with ONLY books on it; it looks too much like a library. I also stack stuff on top of my bookshelves.
I WANT mine to look like a library! It reminds me of Sense and Sensibility, when the bitch sister-in-law is talking about taking the shelves out of the library because of all those books. Edward reminds her that it’s a library, it’s supposed to contain books.
We cull our collection (out of necessity; really no more room for shelves) once or twice a year. We decide what we’ll never read or consult again and take those to the local library. Most of the time we don’t come home with as much as we took.
Its strictly books for both the 5 and three shelf model. The other 3 shelf has my music books and most likely some pictures and other ephemera.

If books you didn’t even think you knew you had turn up on the shelves, you need to use extreme caution.
These books have usually wandered to your shelf from another dimension, and may even not be a book at all.
Best thing to do is grab the book and throw it into a fire.
