Hi,
Just really started playing and now I feel I need a good book with CD,(So I know what I should be sounding like).
I have some books but i am thinking the CD may help me progress.
Is the Bill Oches, The Clarkes Tin whistle any good? Does anyone have a copy? has it been good for you???
Any comments always appreciated…
Thankyou…

It’s easier to get the tape and book in the UK…the CD version is a bit harder to get hold of, though.
I can’t recommend it enough, particularly if you are starting from a very basic level.
It’s also a good way into Irish ornamentation…easier to follow than Geraldine Cotter’s book and tape, I found..but there are merits with all these tutors.
Start with the OCHS !!
You can’t go wrong
I’d recommend the Clark Tinwhistle Book. Been having fun with it. The book with the CD is available from http://www.thewhistleshop.com
It’s what gave me my first real start with the whistle.
This is a real good resource, especially now in the new edition, which is larger in format and comes with a CD instead of the tape. Excellent progression of challenge in the tunes. All in all, a great resource from a real great guy.

You can reach Bill Ochs directly at http://www.pennywhistle.com/ he is usually promp about answering mail. Ask him about his other CD’s. The ones he uses in his whistle classes they are excellent.
