Fortunately, I have a Mac and SBC seems to be doing the job. Today, I had ten virus warnings, three bogus messages from the FBI trying to get personal info and a series of other fake messages with a ZIP file attached.
Crikey. Be careful, PC folken.

Same problem here, only I have a PC… though I’m smart enough to never open file attachments from people I don’t know and trust! ![]()
It’s the sober.y worm that’s causing this recent flood of bogus e-mails, and it’s likely to get much worse before it gets any better.
the “FBI” one managed to get past the filters at work. I think it’s hilarious - with the fire wall that’s installed here at work, we can’t get to many legitimate sites, much less “30 illegal sites”!!! ![]()
The only bird flu I have seen on my PC is an email with a list of warning signs from the CDC that might indicate that you have contracted bird flu, the most serious one being a sudden, overwhelming urge to crap on somebody’s windshield. It was accompanied by a photo of Disneyland, with Donald Duck lying prone in the foreground. I’m not sure if I will take this email seriously or not …

I am still getting swamped with viruses, attachments and virus warnings.
What is interesting is that there are Chiff and Fipple addresses being used.
The tactic is that the email says: “My email address has been changed.” You are then urged to open the message to “get the new email details.”
Thus far, I have gotten fake ones from Thom at the Whistle Shop and from Lee Marsh.
Because I don’t display my email address here, I guess that someone who has it, like Dale, or maybe Thom at his site have been pilfered through.
I got one too, with the webmail address of a Chiff & Fipple person, the same day you initially started this thread.
