Barzaz albums reissued!!! (J-M Veillon on flute)

I’ve just become aware (via FB - it has it’s benefits!!!) of the very welcome limited edition reissue by Keltiamusique of the two fantastic Barzaz albums (Ec’honder (1989) & An Den Kozh Dall (1992)), plus two bonus tracks. Superb! If you’ve never heard/don’t already own these brilliant albums, get them - for the Breton material, for the singing of Yann Fanch Kemener (an “acquired taste”, maybe, but worth acquiring!), for the arrangements, for the general musicianship of all concerned, but above all for Jean-Michel’s flute playing. They’re essential listening and an absolute delight. I can’t recommend these strongly enough and am delighted to see them available once more. There’s info on J-M V’s own website and you can buy the set direct from Keltiamusique for a mere €19,50 + P&P (€3 in Europe). Get 'em while you can!

Also available as downloads - Amazon/iTunes via the Keltiamusique site - the singing is not for me I’m afraid.

Boy, the singing sure IS for me!

Glad to hear this spectacular music is available again.

Thanks for the tip, I found one of recordings on my streaming service. The music is incredible, very interesting indeed. When the singer starts up its sort of like the Munchkins playing with Weather Report.

Great albums in their own right, and also they contain the recognisable roots or beginnings of all sorts of other great projects that the various members went on to be involved in.

Glad they’re more widely available again.
