OK.
Some of you might remember a post a couple years ago about my trip to Haiti (and the whistling I did there).
God has blessed His work down there tremendously, and we were able to accomplish a great deal to His glory and the help of many people.
Well, I’m going back this summer, Lord willing. I’ll leave here June 3rd (right after the next GRMS–what a banner week, eh?). I’m not taking a team this time, just going alone to learn what I can about the culture, language, etc…as much as I can cram in my head in two weeks. Of course, I plan on working my tail off as well to help out some desperately poor people, and lots of people have donated lots of money toward food, clothing, Bibles, and medicine. I’ll also be working a great deal with the orphans, teaching English and Bible.
Of course, I’ll be taking a whistle or two along, as the people down there seemed to really enjoy it (nice change from voodoo drums, I suppose). I think it would be really cool to take a few extra whistles down to give to kids…though their parents might beg to differ. ![]()
This is where you, noble reader, come in…if anyone has any playable whistles lying around taking up space, feel free to send them to me and I’ll make sure they get to the right place. I don’t want dozens and dozens of them, of course, as I won’t be able to carry a lot of them down. But I’d like to have three or four in my bag to hand to children.
Either way please pray for me and for the Haitien people, and especially the orphans of Cap Hatien and Ben Jamin, where I’ll be working. If you’d like to help out further, e-mail me and I’ll give you more info. But I’m not asking for that. All I’m asking for are your prayers, good wishes, and a few spare whistles!
Thanks!
Tom
