I have an 8 key in boxwood coming from Tom Aebi in just under a year’s time, but for various reasons I’m looking for a keyless flute to be playing in the interim.
Does anyone have any for sale/ know of ones that are for sale?
I’m particularly interested in: Hamilton, Olwell (I can hope, right?) Wilkes (I can really hope, right?) but I’d be OK with a bunch of others so just point me in the right direction if you could. I’ve looked at the Irish flute store site but nothing of interest right now (I’m not particularly interested in Windward).

Might I suggest a Delrin flute as a practical addition/alternative? There are some really good ones out there these days, and if you were to get one of those you’d have something you could leave lying around assembled to bang around on even after your Aebi arrives. I enjoy playing my Forbes and Copley Delrin flutes quite a lot, and find them perfectly acceptable alternatives for situations/environments that might not be friendly to my boxwood Olwell (i.e., rainy outdoor gigs, dodgy pubs, insane drunken music-camp weekends, etc.).
I know someone selling a Sweetheart Keyless in D made of Honduras Rosewood.
The price he has listed is $280 including a stick of cork grease, almond oil and the case. He’s also thrown in a set of 3 Imperial Tin Whistles, 2 in D and 1 in C.

CathyWilde: Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer to stick with wood. Perhaps my thread title was misleading, but I’m really looking for a flute that I would keep around permanently even after the Aebi gets here and I like wood more for ‘keepers’ as it were.

Flexismart: Thanks for the link, but from what I’ve heard sound clip wise the GLP is not what I’m looking for tonally speaking.
Thanks all, I’ve gotten some good leads including emails from a couple of very respected makers so I should be on the right track. (Though still no scent of a Wilkes so feel free to keep an eye or three peeled for one )
