No reduction in the starting price this time…yet! A couple more pictures, though.
No bids with 50 minutes left to go… unsurprisingly.
I note “Barzaz” has another “optimistically” (starting) priced item on eBay:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120691030922. It may be a nice example that might interest military reenactment types, but I doubt that can reasonably be expected to pull more than £70-80…
He’s also got a nice-enough looking boxwood one key flute on with a much more realistic pricing policy!
Looks like that will sell!
Ended unsold - and I note he’d marked the listing “Final Price” - so I guess it won’t be back - he can’t have seriously wanted/needed to sell it. Altogether odd, really - certainly unrealistic. I mean, earlier sterling fitted Rudalls with less repair work don’t really fetch above £3.5k even in a stronger market than the present one unless they are truly exceptional for some reason. Apart from the wood-sleeved tuning slide, this is a pretty standard later GS-fitted flute - not special beyond being a Rudall!
Oh well…
EDIT: Ah, but re-examining the listing, there’s a bit at the bottom saying it will be relisted by April15th!
